This edition is a compilation of research works currently carried out in our continent around organizational studies. Given its foreign origins, what gives this call special character is related to the concern to identify what distinguishes these studies in our continent, asking us about a field that is torn between affirmation, opposition or even permanent indefinition. Emphasizing our local path and following Ríos, Toro, Pérez, Mandiola and Espejo, we seek to highlight and add the efforts of specialized organizations that have consolidated in our continent. This Thematic Section is composed of 13 selected articles out of a total of 30 articles received. The contributions come from various disciplinary and geographical areas and seek to make more complex the approaches and methodologies to address research on organizational studies in Latin America. With them we find that our organizational studies are built from the exercise of a professional practice, along with the exercise of doing science.
