Abstract

During these last decades, Social Sciences in general and Psychology in particular have paid more attention to the characteristics, needs, subjective constructions and demands of the so-called vulnerable population, in detriment of the research and knowledge we have of the elites. The massive social mobilizations of the last period converge in denouncing a common aspect: the enormous educational, cultural, social, spatial-geographical and economic gaps existing between the citizenry and the elite groups, as well as the accumulation of privileges granted to them. Reacting to this, the elites develop forms of resistance to consolidate their position. This edition of Psicoperspectivas brings together nine articles -received in the context of our call for papers "Studying elites: Contributions to understanding inequality and inequity in societies"- that address topics such as the relationship of elites with education at all levels; academic-intellectual elites; inter-subjective construction of elites; and elites in relation to other social groups.
