Abstract

The arrival of COVID-19 virus generated an international effect that had - and still has - a strong impact on the daily lives of individuals, groups and cultures at the international level, changing behavioral patterns as well as expectations about the future. The health crisis produced diverse effects in key social areas such as work, education, as well as in mental health, forms of sociability and the use of space. The effects are not homogeneous across the population, as they affect marginalized or precarious individuals and groups more severely and intensely. Contributions to this thematic edition of Psychoperspectives come from various disciplinary and geographical areas, and seek to broaden the scope of original and empirical research on COVID-19 conducted these days. Papers published address diverse topics, among them: media and discourses on COVID-19, gender and care, transformations in the educational field, and effects of the pandemic on workers in the public sector. In total, 13 articles were selected from 77 manuscripts received from nine countries of Latin America and Europe.
