The problem of violence has become important in multicultural educational settings over the last few years. In this scenario, from a theoretical and analytical perspective, this paper reflects critically about the connection between this phenomenon and the means to manage cultural diversity in schools. Starting from a conceptualization of violence as institutional-symbolic, it helps broaden the scope beyond the individual expression of the phenomenon, by retrieving the contribution that an intercultural perspective of attention to diversity has to offer to the design and organization of educational experiences so that the development of all students is harmonious, overcoming management models that themselves may become forms of institutional expression of school violence.Published
