Abstract

Based on our general interest for the dissemination of the enterprise "form" in the social field in contemporary world. The objective is to analyze how a set of values and a vision of the world are spread by the doctrines and practices of management, currently promoting a certain "sort of people" and a certain form of being subject. We take the international public sector here as specific object of study, in particular the international organizations of the United Nations system. From a set of twenty-five interviews done in agencies and organisms of different sectors of the UN in Geneva, we mainly focus on two of them in order to characterize the beginning of the career of a young professional as well as the meanings and the results of the dissemination of the "entrepreneurial culture" inside the UN. We show then the influence of the spreading of those managerial doctrines, techniques and practices and we discuss some contributions that can be made from a critical sociology.
