This exploratory, descriptive and comparative research was developed to characterize transactional and transformational leadership of non-lucrative organizations volunteers' at Mar del Plata, Argentina, and to compare younger and older volunteers specifically. For this purpose, the Multifactor Leadership Questionnaire (MLQ-5x) was administered. The sample was intentional, non-probabilistic, composed by younger and older non lucrative organizations volunteers at Mar del Plata, Argentina. It was hypothesized that younger volunteers' group would be more transformational than older volunteers' group, and the last one would be more transactional. Descriptive statistics and non-parametric tests were applied to identify groups' differences. Results show critical differences between less than 30 year-old and 60 year-old or more volunteers in Passive Management by Exception transactional dimension. There were no critical differences related to the other transactional, transformational and laissez faire dimensions between groups.Published
