This paper aims to investigate the representations of meritocracy in Argentina´s main newspapers since the landing of Macri to power in 2015. The novelty of the rise to power of a political party whose officials had been mostly managers of large companies leads us to investigate around the transfer of world views of the corporate world to the public sphere, as in the case of meritocracy. Based on a hermeneutic interpretation methodology of hemerographic analysis of the most widely circulated newspapers and the problematization of their results with the contributions of sociology of management, it allows us to point out that this phenomenon has deep roots that evoke the narrative of the immigrant who, through its own endeavour, can forge his own destiny. The conclusions of the analysis suggest that the profusion of references linked to meritocracy is related to an extension of the scope of this concept to the public sphere, a phenomenon that the mass media has had a great responsibility as disseminators of this worldview.
