Ecoansiedade em estudantes rurais do sul do Chile diante das crises socioambientais e da mudança climática

A mudança climática e as crises ecológicas globais apresentam desafios significativos, especialmente para as gerações mais jovens. Embora a educação ambiental nas instituições de ensino vise promover a consciência ecológica, muitas vezes ela ignora as dimensões emocionais que afetam seus alunos. A ecoansiedade, um conjunto de emoções derivadas da percepção das crises ambientais, é particularmente relevante entre os alunos de contextos rurais do Chile que estão inseridos no Sistema Nacional de Certificação Ambiental de Estabelecimentos Educacionais (SNCAE). Este estudo qualitativo foi realizado por meio de workshops, técnicas projetivas e seis grupos focais com alunos do sétimo e oitavo anos do ensino fundamental. Por meio da análise temática, foram exploradas suas experiências e emoções em relação às mudanças climáticas e seu impacto na saúde mental. Os resultados mostram que muitos deles expressam preocupação com o meio ambiente, com alguns experimentando ecoansiedade disfuncional, manifestada em sintomas físicos e emocionais. Foram identificadas quatro dimensões da ecoansiedade: emoções negativas, desesperança, negação por meio do humor e mobilização para a ecoesperança, além de estratégias de enfrentamento e recomendações para apoio em sala de aula.
