Abstract

This article runs through the main aspects that currently delimit the anthropologicfield, focusing in the definition of a new object for discipline, already distanced from the frame where it rose. The author re-interrogates the role of anthropology establishing the difference existing between what he calls "cultures of the immanency" and the contemporary societies regarding the tension between sense and freedom which define the social order. The analysis of this tension in particular social structures together with a reflection around the methodological aspects that characterise the anthropologic experience is carried out through ethnographic examples, endorsing the position of exteriority by the ethnologist and specifying the frame where the interpretative exercise is developed. Finally, the author positions the writing process as a central experience in the anthropologic work, as far as this reflects the subjective commitment of the author with knowledge, auto-reflection, and the possibilities of adapting to changes of the history.
